In July 2023, the average import price for nickel; bars, rods, profiles and wires amounted to $59,859 per ton, picking up by 62% against the previous month. Overall, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the United States ($74,355 per ton), while the price for China ($31,878 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2023 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+9.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for nickel; bars, rods, profiles and wires stood at $45,912 per ton in 2022, surging by 7.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price enjoyed strong growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 an increase of 115%. The export price peaked in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was India ($176,373 per ton), while the average price for exports to Azerbaijan ($14,230 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to India (+36.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
