In 2022, the average import price for nickel; plates, sheets, strip and foil, of nickel alloyses amounted to $29,864 per ton, increasing by 29% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The import price peaked at $31,582 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($41,057 per ton), while the price for South Korea ($9,273 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Japan (+3.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, export price for nickel; plates, sheets, strip and foil, of nickel alloyses increased by +51.6% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of 40% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
