The average export price for nickel; tubes and pipes, of nickel alloyses stood at $42,220 per ton in August 2023, increasing by 29% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a pronounced setback. The export price peaked at $52,950 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to August 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Brazil ($57,942 per ton), while the average price for exports to Iran ($20,178 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From February 2023 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Mexico (+6.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
