Price for Nickel; Wire, Not Alloyed in Germany (CIF) - 2023

In July 2023, the average nickel; wire, not alloyed import price amounted to $31,616 per ton, which is down by -14.4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2023 an increase of 22% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $37,392 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to July 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($52,173 per ton), while the price for China ($3,231 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Austria (+0.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average nickel; wire, not alloyed export price amounted to $41,645 per ton, jumping by 25% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated a slight increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, nickel; wire, not alloyed export price increased by +35.5% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 29% against the previous year. The export price peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
