The average nickel; wire, not alloyed export price stood at $45,147 per ton in 2022, jumping by 114% against the previous year. In general, the export price posted a notable expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 117% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $81,625 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

The average nickel; wire, not alloyed import price stood at $45,184 per ton in August 2023, which is down by -7.4% against the previous month. In general, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in October 2022 an increase of 111% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $48,789 per ton in July 2023, and then fell in the following month.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices from Germany ($50,192 per ton) and India ($48,075 per ton), while the price for Costa Rica ($36,000 per ton) and Austria ($39,705 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Costa Rica (+12.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Exports of Nickel; Wire, Not Alloyed in the United States
