The average import price for nuts, edible; almonds, fresh or dried, shelleds stood at $4,715 per ton in September 2023, with a decrease of -14.1% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2023 an increase of 17% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $5,901 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to September 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($8,496 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($1,832 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From December 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+3.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In September 2023, the average export price for nuts, edible; almonds, fresh or dried, shelleds amounted to $4,484 per ton, surging by 15% against the previous month. In general, export price indicated mild growth from December 2022 to September 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.2% over the last nine-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2023 figures, export price for nuts, edible; almonds, fresh or dried, shelleds decreased by -36.4% against July 2023 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in July 2023 an increase of 75% month-to-month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $7,055 per ton. From August 2023 to September 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($9,505 per ton), while the average price for exports to Italy ($4,035 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From December 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+1.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
