The average export price for nuts, edible; almonds, fresh or dried, shelleds stood at $4,163 per ton in September 2023, leveling off at the previous month. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2023 an increase of 2.4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $4,502 per ton in June 2023; however, from July 2023 to September 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In September 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Mexico ($4,971 per ton) and Japan ($4,900 per ton), while the average price for exports to Spain ($3,581 per ton) and Italy ($3,747 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From February 2023 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Canada (+0.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

The average import price for nuts, edible; almonds, fresh or dried, shelleds stood at $8,985 per ton in September 2023, with an increase of 92% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price enjoyed resilient growth. The import price peaked at $10,747 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to September 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Italy ($9,348 per ton), while the price for Afghanistan ($6,155 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From February 2023 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+1.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
