The average import price for nuts, edible; cashew nuts, shelled, fresh or drieds stood at $5,299 per ton in December 2023, which is down by -4.1% against the previous month. In general, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2023 when the average import price increased by 8.9% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $6,196 per ton. From May 2023 to December 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2023, the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($5,785 per ton), while the price for Myanmar totaled $4,983 per ton.

The average export price for nuts, edible; cashew nuts, shelled, fresh or drieds stood at $5,246 per ton in 2022, declining by -11.1% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a remarkable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of 81%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $9,317 per ton. From 2017 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Hong Kong SAR ($11,323 per ton), while the average price for exports to Vietnam ($3,317 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Malaysia (+44.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
