The average import price for nuts, edible; cashew nuts, shelled, fresh or drieds stood at $6,764 per ton in October 2023, increasing by 7.7% against the previous month. In general, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 an increase of 9.5% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $6,992 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to October 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In October 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices from Germany ($7,886 per ton) and India ($7,820 per ton), while the price for Vietnam ($6,256 per ton) and the Netherlands ($7,053 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+3.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for nuts, edible; cashew nuts, shelled, fresh or drieds stood at $7,602 per ton in October 2023, rising by 21% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.2%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major foreign markets. In October 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices to Cyprus ($8,301 per ton) and Malta ($7,639 per ton), while the average price for exports to Romania ($6,013 per ton) and Bulgaria ($7,221 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Bulgaria (+2.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
