The average import price for nuts, edible; cashew nuts, shelled, fresh or drieds stood at $5,837 per ton in October 2023, with a decrease of -13.3% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price saw a mild setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 when the average import price increased by 8.2% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $7,378 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to October 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Myanmar ($10,451 per ton), while the price for Sri Lanka ($2,213 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Indonesia (-0.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($14,333 per ton), while the average price for exports to Indonesia ($1,326 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+11.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
