The average export price for nuts, edible; cashew nuts, shelled, fresh or drieds stood at $6,668 per ton in December 2022, with a decrease of -16.3% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded notable growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2022 when the average export price increased by 105% m-o-m. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $13,822 per ton. From August 2022 to December 2022, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was China ($10,841 per ton), while the average price for exports to Japan ($800 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2021 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+7.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
