In October 2023, the average import price for nuts, edible; cashew nuts, shelled, fresh or drieds amounted to $6,233 per ton, reducing by -4.9% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2023 when the average import price increased by 9% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $7,219 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to October 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Cote d'Ivoire ($7,307 per ton), while the price for Benin ($5,729 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Cote d'Ivoire (+2.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for nuts, edible; cashew nuts, shelled, fresh or drieds stood at $5,166 per ton in October 2023, waning by -29.2% against the previous month. Overall, the export price recorded a noticeable reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in March 2023 an increase of 31% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $9,037 per ton in June 2023; however, from July 2023 to October 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($15,464 per ton), while the average price for exports to North Macedonia ($4,544 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hungary (+5.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
