The average export price for nuts, edible; macadamia, fresh or dried, in shells stood at $7,595 per ton in 2022, dropping by -5.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average export price increased by 38%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $9,737 per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Hong Kong SAR ($11,892 per ton), while the average price for exports to Kuwait totaled $3,283 per ton.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hong Kong SAR (+4.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In 2022, shipments abroad of nuts, edible; macadamia, fresh or dried, in shells decreased by -2.5% to 2.4 tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.6% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 5.3%.

In value terms, exports of nuts, edible; macadamia, fresh or dried, in shells shrank to $18K in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +9.1% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 19% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $19K, and then declined in the following year.
