The average import price for sunflower seed stood at $4,225 per ton in 2022, falling by -23.1% against the previous year. In general, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when the average import price increased by 36%. The import price peaked at $9,177 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was France ($11,840 per ton), while the price for Kazakhstan ($803 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
