In November 2023, the average import price for oils and products of the distillation of high temperature coal tar; naphthalenes amounted to $1,038 per ton, surging by 8.3% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a mild reduction. The import price peaked at $1,328 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to November 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($1,381 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($883 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (-0.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

As a result, imports reached the peak of 8.9K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports of remained at a lower figure.

The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +7.9% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 34% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
