The average import price for oils and products of the distillation of high temperature coal tar; naphthalenes stood at $890 per ton in January 2024, rising by 2.6% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, saw a perceptible decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2023 an increase of 33% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $1,284 per ton. From August 2023 to January 2024, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In January 2024, the country with the highest price was India ($990 per ton), while the price for Russia ($831 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2023 to January 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Iran (-0.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

The average export price for oils and products of the distillation of high temperature coal tar; naphthalenes stood at $4,701 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 554% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $5,123 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to Iraq ($4,806 per ton) and Georgia ($4,774 per ton), while the average price for exports to Iran ($4,596 per ton) and Bosnia and Herzegovina ($4,607 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Iraq (+9.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
