The average export price for oils and products of the distillation of high temperature coal tar; xyloles stood at $1,001 per ton in November 2023, dropping by -14.7% against the previous month. In general, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in February 2023 an increase of 32% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $1,198 per ton in September 2023; however, from October 2023 to November 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. In November 2023, the countries with the highest prices were France ($1,181 per ton) and Poland ($1,031 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($973 per ton) and Belgium ($993 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belgium (+0.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In 2022, shipments abroad of oils and products of the distillation of high temperature coal tar; xyloles decreased by -18.4% to 404K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. In general, total exports indicated a remarkable increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +18.6% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 71%.
In value terms, exports of oils and products of the distillation of high temperature coal tar; xyloles surged to $434M in 2022. Overall, exports, however, saw a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 116%. Over the period under review, the exports of oils and products of distillation of high temperature coal tar; xyloles attained the maximum in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.
