In 2022, the average import price for oils and products of the distillation of high temperature coal tar; xyloles amounted to $732 per ton, falling by -40.4% against the previous year. Overall, the import price saw a abrupt curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when the average import price increased by 68% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $1,739 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($5,114 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($594 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
