In 2022, the average export price for organic surface-active agents (excluding soap, anionic, cationic, non-ionic) amounted to $3,986 per ton, which is down by -4.6% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average export price increased by 10% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $4,179 per ton, and then shrank in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($14,956 per ton), while the average price for exports to Canada ($2,511 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Malaysia (+14.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for organic surface-active agents (excluding soap, anionic, cationic, non-ionic) stood at $2,217 per ton in December 2021, dropping by -11.7% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in February 2021 an increase of 28% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $2,783 per ton. From March 2021 to December 2021, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($10,196 per ton), while the price for Egypt ($932 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2021 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Japan (+6.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Exports of Organic Surface-Active Agents (Excl. Soap, Anionic, Cationic, Non-Ionic) in the United States
In 2022, after two years of decline, there was growth in shipments abroad of organic surface-active agents (excluding soap, anionic, cationic, non-ionic), when their volume increased by 0.9% to 25K tons. In general, exports, however, saw a noticeable descent.

Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a slight descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 8% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $106M, and then reduced in the following year.
