The average import price for paper, cigarette; in rolls of a width not exceeding 5cms stood at $5,545 per ton in January 2024, dropping by -52.2% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, enjoyed a mild increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in December 2023 an increase of 111% m-o-m. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $11,590 per ton, and then contracted sharply in the following month.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($6,834 per ton), while the price for Luxembourg ($2,517 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2023 to January 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Bulgaria (+25.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
