The average import price for paper, cigarette; in rolls of a width not exceeding 5cms stood at $2,991 per ton in March 2024, reducing by -2.6% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in May 2023 an increase of 5.3% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $3,225 per ton in July 2023; however, from August 2023 to March 2024, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was China ($9,416 per ton), while the price for the Czech Republic ($2,066 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From March 2023 to March 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+13.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price peaked at $3,834 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to March 2024, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In March 2024, the country with the highest price was Georgia ($7,525 per ton), while the average price for exports to Italy ($1,855 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From March 2023 to March 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Azerbaijan (+1.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
