The average import price for peat; (including peat litter), whether or not agglomerateds stood at $264 per ton in 2022, reducing by -6.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 18% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $305 per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($342 per ton), while the price for Lithuania ($210 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+3.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price peaked at $954 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Bahrain ($1,069 per ton), while the average price for exports to Oman amounted to $407 per ton.

From 2013 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Bahrain (+14.3%).

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 136%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $55K, and then reduced markedly in the following year.
