In October 2023, the average export price for peat; (including peat litter), whether or not agglomerateds amounted to $91.8 per ton, reducing by -8.7% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in February 2023 when the average export price increased by 29% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $131 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to October 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Norway.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for the Netherlands amounted to +2.9% per month.

In 2022, the average import price for peat; (including peat litter), whether or not agglomerateds amounted to $209 per ton, growing by 7.7% against the previous year. In general, the import price continues to indicate a resilient increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 65%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
