In 2022, the average import price for pectic substances; pectinates and pectateses amounted to $11,070 per ton, increasing by 13% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a pronounced setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 40% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $17,797 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Spain ($77,800 per ton), while the price for South Africa ($2,308 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+22.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
