In January 2022, the average import price for pectic substances; pectinates and pectateses amounted to $11,425 per ton, surging by 5.7% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in May 2021 when the average import price increased by 17% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $12,855 per ton. From June 2021 to January 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In January 2022, the country with the highest price was Denmark ($16,048 per ton), while the price for China ($9,743 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2021 to January 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Denmark (+1.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

Overall, export price indicated pronounced growth from January 2021 to January 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.5% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on January 2022 figures, pectic substances; pectinates and pectates export price decreased by -8.2% against July 2021 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in February 2021 an increase of 66% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $14,028 per ton in March 2021; however, from April 2021 to January 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

From January 2021 to January 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belarus (+4.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
