In August 2023, the average import price for pectic substances; pectinates and pectateses amounted to $18,702 per ton, falling by -1.8% against the previous month. Over the period from August 2022 to August 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.3%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in October 2022 when the average import price increased by 16% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $19,037 per ton in July 2023, and then declined in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Mexico ($27,112 per ton), while the price for Brazil ($8,516 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $13,934 per ton. From October 2022 to August 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was South Korea ($17,185 per ton), while the average price for exports to Indonesia ($9,458 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Canada (+2.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
