In 2022, the average import price for petroleum gases and other gaseous hydrocarbons; liquefied, natural gasses amounted to $566 per ton, rising by 75% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 an increase of 79%. The import price peaked at $628 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Nigeria ($10,296 per ton), while the price for Iran ($359 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Nigeria (+22.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 579% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 16M tons, and then declined notably in the following year.
In value terms, imports of petroleum gases and other gaseous hydrocarbons; liquefied, natural gasses shrank significantly to $3.9B in 2022. Overall, imports, however, saw significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 425%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $5.1B, and then declined sharply in the following year.
