The average import price for phenols or phenol-alcohols; halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives thereoves stood at $64,366 per ton in 2022, growing by 9.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed a resilient increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 106%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $65,008 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($91,957 per ton), while the price for the Czech Republic ($11,763 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+13.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a abrupt slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 an increase of 60% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $118,813 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Moldova ($80,919 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United States ($6,109 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Latvia (+17.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In 2022, purchases abroad of phenols or phenol-alcohols; halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives thereoves decreased by -18.4% to 3.4 tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. In general, imports showed a abrupt shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 12% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 6.7 tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports of remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, imports of phenols or phenol-alcohols; halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives thereoves contracted to $221K in 2022. Overall, imports faced a abrupt decline.

In general, exports, however, showed a prominent increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 86%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 6.5 tons, and then reduced notably in the following year.
In value terms, exports of phenols or phenol-alcohols; halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives thereoves fell markedly to $55K in 2022. Overall, exports, however, recorded resilient growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 54%.
