In March 2024, the average import price for pig fat; lard, other than that of heading 0209 and 1503s amounted to $971 per ton, declining by -1.8% against the previous month. In general, the import price showed a slight slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2023 an increase of 19% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $1,325 per ton in December 2023; however, from January 2024 to March 2024, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In March 2024, the country with the highest price was Portugal ($1,065 per ton), while the price for Italy ($894 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
