The average import price for pig fat; lard, other than that of heading 0209 and 1503s stood at $1,495 per ton in March 2024, remaining constant against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a slight decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in November 2023 when the average import price increased by 9% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $1,978 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to March 2024, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In March 2024, the country with the highest price was Slovakia ($2,317 per ton), while the price for Denmark ($1,251 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From March 2023 to March 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Slovakia (-0.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $1,537 per ton. From December 2023 to March 2024, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In March 2024, the country with the highest price was Hungary ($2,720 per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($277 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From March 2023 to March 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+10.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
