Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in May 2023 an increase of 30% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $2,381 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to October 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($3,070 per ton), while the price for Vietnam ($1,135 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+5.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $2,047 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Belarus ($3,717 per ton), while the average price for exports to Belgium ($1,079 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Kazakhstan (+6.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
