The average import price for polymers of propylene or of other olefins, in primary formses stood at $1,131 per ton in June 2023, surging by 11% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a noticeable slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2023 an increase of 17% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $1,473 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to June 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($1,225 per ton), while the price for Taiwan (Chinese) ($643 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (-1.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

Overall, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2023 an increase of 357% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $4,103 per ton in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to June 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Australia ($4,415 per ton), while the average price for exports to Jordan ($828 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+3.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
