In October 2023, the average export price for polymers of vinyl chloride or of other halogenated olefins, in primary formses amounted to $1,416 per ton, picking up by 2.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a mild contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in April 2023 an increase of 7.4% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $1,729 per ton in October 2022; however, from November 2022 to October 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was China ($3,267 per ton), while the average price for exports to Spain ($1,233 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+1.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
