Price for Polypropylene in Primary Forms in Russia (FOB) - 2022
In January 2022, the average polypropylene in primary forms export price amounted to $1,396 per ton, shrinking by -3.6% against the previous month. Over the period from January 2021 to January 2022, it increased at an average monthly rate of +3.3%. The growth pace was the most rapid in February 2021 an increase of 17% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $1,552 per ton in August 2021; however, from September 2021 to January 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($1,707 per ton), while the average price for exports to Vietnam ($1,020 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2021 to January 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+4.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In January 2022, the average polypropylene in primary forms import price amounted to $1,724 per ton, which is down by -1.7% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +3.1%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2021 when the average import price increased by 15% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $1,869 per ton in June 2021; however, from July 2021 to January 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In January 2022, the country with the highest price was Germany ($2,505 per ton), while the price for Kazakhstan ($1,458 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2021 to January 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkmenistan (+4.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Exports of Polypropylene in Primary Forms in Russia
In 2022, polypropylene in primary forms exports from Russia soared to 1M tons, jumping by 35% compared with the year before. Overall, exports recorded significant growth.
