The average import price for poultry; live, ducks, geese, turkeys and guinea fowls, weighing more than 185g meat stood at $9.1 per unit in 2022, increasing by 4.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 an increase of 50% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $13 per unit in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($36 per unit), while the price for the Netherlands totaled $2 per unit.
