The average import price for poultry; live, ducks, geese, turkeys and guinea fowls, weighing more than 185g meat stood at $17 per unit in 2022, shrinking by -19.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed notable growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average import price increased by 128%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $22 per unit, and then reduced sharply in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Ethiopia ($108 per unit), while the price for India ($6.6 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ethiopia (+30.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period.
