In July 2023, the average powders of pig iron import price amounted to $2,088 per ton, which is down by -3.3% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2023 an increase of 20% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $2,294 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to July 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was South Korea ($3,989 per ton), while the price for India ($1,264 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
