The average export price for propylene, other olefin polymers; propylene copolymers in primary formses stood at $1,765 per ton in October 2023, growing by 4.2% against the previous month. Overall, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2023 an increase of 5.4% against the previous month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $1,933 per ton. From May 2023 to October 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Morocco ($2,262 per ton), while the average price for exports to Algeria ($1,097 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Turkey (+1.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2023 an increase of 29% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $1,842 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to October 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Over the period under review, exports, however, posted significant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 70%. Over the period under review, the exports of attained the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
