In February 2022, the average export price for propylene, other olefin polymers; propylene copolymers in primary formses amounted to $1,882 per ton, shrinking by -7.5% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.9%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2021 when the average export price increased by 28% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $2,328 per ton in May 2021; however, from June 2021 to February 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In February 2022, the highest price was recorded for prices to Venezuela ($2,107 per ton) and Mexico ($2,003 per ton), while the average price for exports to Peru ($1,637 per ton) and the United States ($1,702 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From February 2021 to February 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Chile (+2.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for propylene, other olefin polymers; propylene copolymers in primary formses stood at $1,853 per ton in February 2022, reducing by -2% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.0%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2021 an increase of 16% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $1,970 per ton in September 2021; however, from October 2021 to February 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In February 2022, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($2,249 per ton), while the price for Ecuador ($1,056 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From February 2021 to February 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+40.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas shipments of propylene, other olefin polymers; propylene copolymers in primary formses, when their volume decreased by -6% to 99K tons. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 106K tons, and then reduced in the following year.
