The average import price for propylene, other olefin polymers; propylene copolymers in primary formses stood at $1,824 per ton in October 2023, picking up by 1.6% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in April 2023 an increase of 6.4% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $2,001 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to October 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In October 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Germany ($2,011 per ton) and France ($1,954 per ton), while the price for South Korea ($1,384 per ton) and Hungary ($1,511 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Slovakia (+0.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.8%. The growth pace was the most rapid in November 2022 an increase of 13% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $2,452 per ton in July 2023; however, from August 2023 to October 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($3,081 per ton), while the average price for exports to Italy ($1,000 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+4.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
