The average pulp; cotton linters pulp import price stood at $1,884 per ton in September 2023, increasing by 21% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a noticeable shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2023 an increase of 54% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $2,726 per ton. From May 2023 to September 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was China ($1,890 per ton), while the price for Japan stood at $1,785 per ton.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+3.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, the average pulp; cotton linters pulp export price amounted to $909 per ton, which is down by -72% against the previous year. In general, the export price faced a dramatic decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 an increase of 478%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $11,189 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Hong Kong SAR.
From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for China amounted to +41.2% per year.

In 2022, the amount of pulp; cotton linters pulp imported into Thailand contracted dramatically to 7.1K tons, dropping by -18.7% on 2021 figures. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.8% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 41%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 8.8K tons, and then fell significantly in the following year.

In 2022, overseas shipments of pulp; cotton linters pulp were finally on the rise to reach 11 kg after two years of decline. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a sharp descent.
