The average import price for pulps of other fibrous cellulosic materials stood at $1,454 per ton in March 2024, with an increase of 13% against the previous month. Overall, the import price saw a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2023 an increase of 172% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $3,463 per ton in July 2023; however, from August 2023 to March 2024, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the United States ($2,017 per ton), while the price for South Korea ($1,047 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From April 2023 to March 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+14.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for pulps of other fibrous cellulosic materials stood at $2,843 per ton in 2022, increasing by 70% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed a mild descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when the average export price increased by 369% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $5,664 per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($2,713 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Philippines ($1,484 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to India (+28.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Overall, total imports indicated a strong expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +10.6% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +35.3% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 51%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $21M, and then shrank remarkably in the following year.
