In March 2024, the average export price for pulps of other fibrous cellulosic materials amounted to $258 per ton, with a decrease of -2.2% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2024 an increase of 4.7% against the previous month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $264 per ton, and then fell in the following month.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for China.
From May 2023 to March 2024, the rate of growth in terms of prices for China amounted to +0.2% per month.

The average import price for pulps of other fibrous cellulosic materials stood at $961 per ton in March 2024, rising by 22% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in February 2024 an increase of 38% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $982 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to March 2024, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was China ($1,774 per ton), while the price for India ($401 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From May 2023 to March 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Chile (+0.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

For the fourth year in a row, Thailand recorded growth in overseas shipments of pulps of other fibrous cellulosic materials, which increased by 39% to 1.7M tons in 2022.
