Price for Pulps of Other Fibrous Cellulosic Material in Ukraine (CIF) - 2024
The average import price for pulps of other fibrous cellulosic materials stood at $1,182 per ton in January 2024, with an increase of 2.8% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, showed a mild setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2023 an increase of 20% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $1,446 per ton. From June 2023 to January 2024, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In January 2024, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($2,040 per ton), while the price for India ($950 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From March 2023 to January 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Lithuania (+1.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average export price for pulps of other fibrous cellulosic materials amounted to $1,018 per ton, which is down by -23.4% against the previous year. Overall, the export price showed a slight setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 277% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $1,899 per ton. From 2019 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($2,463 per ton), while the average price for exports to Italy ($390 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Uzbekistan (+14.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Pulps of Other Fibrous Cellulosic Material in Ukraine
In 2022, supplies from abroad of pulps of other fibrous cellulosic materials decreased by -79.8% to 5.8K tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Overall, imports continue to indicate a significant contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 119%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 35K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports of failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, imports of pulps of other fibrous cellulosic materials contracted markedly to $7.3M in 2022. In general, imports faced a deep setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 93% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $21M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports of remained at a somewhat lower figure.
