Price for Quartz; Other than Natural Sands in Turkey (FOB) - 2024
The average export price for quartz; other than natural sandses stood at $134 per ton in July 2023, which is down by -23.9% against the previous month. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2023 when the average export price increased by 31% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $195 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to July 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was South Korea ($232 per ton), while the average price for exports to Iceland ($77.0 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2023 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Iceland (+4.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for quartz; other than natural sandses stood at $335 per ton in 2022, dropping by -4% against the previous year. In general, the import price recorded a mild curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when the average import price increased by 30%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $409 per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($643 per ton), while the price for Egypt ($177 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+5.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
