The average import price for raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and cranberries stood at $6,257 per ton in August 2023, rising by 12% against the previous month. In general, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in February 2023 an increase of 29% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $8,641 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to August 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($8,163 per ton), while the price for Poland ($5,053 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Morocco (+3.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In August 2023, the average export price for raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and cranberries amounted to $6,418 per ton, growing by 7.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, export price indicated a slight increase from August 2022 to August 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.7% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on August 2023 figures, raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, and cranberry export price decreased by -26.2% against June 2023 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in September 2022 an increase of 52% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $11,059 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to August 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($16,333 per ton), while the average price for exports to Poland ($371 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+11.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Raspberry, Blackberry, Blueberry, and Cranberry in France
For the fourth consecutive year, France recorded growth in overseas purchases of raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and cranberries, which increased by 7.2% to 43K tons in 2022. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +13.9% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 20%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, and cranberry imports reduced to $260M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +7.8% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 32%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $270M, and then declined in the following year.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +69.3% against 2019 indices. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, and cranberry exports soared to $101M in 2022. Over the period under review, total exports indicated a resilient increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +17.7% over the last three-year period.
