The average import price for tubes and pipes of refined copper stood at $9,579 per ton in September 2023, stabilizing at the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a mild decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2023 when the average import price increased by 24% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $12,972 per ton. From February 2023 to September 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($9,771 per ton), while the price for China stood at $9,499 per ton.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Vietnam (-0.6%).

The average export price for tubes and pipes of refined copper stood at $9,948 per ton in September 2023, dropping by -5.9% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in August 2023 an increase of 7.4% month-to-month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $10,575 per ton, and then declined in the following month.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major external markets. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Argentina ($11,301 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United States ($9,339 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Argentina (+1.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Refined Copper Tube and Pipe in Brazil
