The average import price for residues; of petroleum oils or of oils obtained from bituminous mineralses stood at $1,074 per ton in 2022, increasing by 5.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a dramatic shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the average import price increased by 104%. The import price peaked at $12,250 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for the United States.

From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Malaysia amounted to +8.4% per year.

Imports of Residues; of Petroleum Oils or of Oils Obtained from Bituminous Minerals in Peru

In 2022, approx. 13 tons of residues; of petroleum oils or of oils obtained from bituminous mineralses were imported into Peru; which is down by -31.3% on the previous year. In general, imports, however, posted a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 167% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 19 tons, and then declined dramatically in the following year.

In value terms, imports of residues; of petroleum oils or of oils obtained from bituminous mineralses declined dramatically to $14K in 2022. Overall, imports, however, saw a remarkable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 125%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $20K, and then reduced notably in the following year.
