In October 2023, the average sheep and goats; live export price amounted to $128 per unit, rising by 5.6% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a slight shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2023 when the average export price increased by 22% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $155 per unit in October 2022; however, from November 2022 to October 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Montenegro ($146 per unit), while the average price for exports to Albania ($100 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Montenegro (+2.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
