The average import price for silicates; commercial alkali metal silicates, other than of sodium or potassia stood at $1,893 per ton in 2022, growing by 3.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of 26% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $2,762 per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+5.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
